Evaluation

Evaluation can be used to assess the impact of research projects and programs and it can also be research itself.

Government programs often undergo evaluations of their effectiveness in terms of delivery or outcomes.

In 2020, the Productivity Commission published the Indigenous Evaluation Strategy to guide Commonwealth government evaluation of programs impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This strategy is also a useful guide for researchers or community organisations wanting to undertake their own evaluations.

Indigenous Evaluation Strategy

The Indigenous Evaluation Strategy provides a whole-of-government framework for Australian Government agencies to use when selecting, planning, conducting and using evaluations of policies and programs affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
