Paul Ramsay Foundation

Description

Paul Ramsay Foundation is one of Australia’s largest charitable foundations. The late Paul Ramsay AO established the Foundation in 2006 and, after his death in 2014, left most of his estate to continue his philanthropy for generations to come.

We invest in and partner with organisations and communities across Australia that focus on enabling people and places to thrive. We build the capability of organisations and the for-purpose sector and we aim to influence through collaboration and advocacy.

Ending cycles of disadvantage is an enormously complex challenge that cannot be solved alone, quickly, or with simple solutions. It’s why we collaborate with communities and organisations to collectively disrupt disadvantage, recognise and build on strengths, and enable opportunities for people and communities to thrive.

Since 2016, we have committed more than $800 million in grant funding to 200 partners.

In 2023, 58 organisations across Australia working with key groups affected by domestic and family violence received funding to expand their reach, and boost the level of support available through specialists programs to counter violence.

Twenty-seven of the 58 organisations are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led programs, which speaks to a significant investment in First Nations self-determined approaches to domestic and family violence.
