This project investigated the colonial frontier in South Australia's Riverland region. Numerous discoveries were made in collaboration with the River Murray and Mallee Aboriginal Corporation (RMMAC). From historical inscriptions in rockshelters relating to the frontier period to the effect of European invasion/settlement on culturally modified trees and much more, hundreds of sites relating to, and pre-dating, the contact period were documented during this project. Multiple methods were deployed in the research ranging from oral history interviews to geophysical investigations. Economic benefits to RMMAC members were gained through employment during the project. Numerous outreach activities to educate others about past were also achieved.
