Children born of war: Australia and the War in the Pacific 1941 - 1944

Start date
End date

The Project worked with more than forty Children Born of War in Australia, most born to Indigenous Australian mothers and African American fathers during the second world war, to document their experiences, help find information about their American families and place their family histories within a wider social context. The project findings were disseminated through a series of journal articles and blog essays, promoting understudying this history to the both scholarly community and to the wider Australian public. A project website and a monograph co-authored by the CI's are forthcoming.
